Historic Downtown Sikeston
A drive along Kingshighway will take you to the heart of the City of Sikeston – Historic Downtown. Along cobblestone Front Street, you can enjoy the shade and historic ambiance of the American Legion Park. Tour the Historic Depot where you can also visit a historic museum and art galleries. View murals that depict the history of the community. Downtown Sikeston is home to century-old structures that now house many retail shops, restaurants and other businesses.
The historic Methodist Church Columns – a landmark of six majestic pillars – are a stately reminder of the city’s religious heritage and the beautiful First Methodist Church which was built in 1879 and tragically destroyed by fire in 1968. The city’s oldest park, Malone Park, is also located downtown and is the site of numerous outdoor weddings each year. There are 15 historical points of interest throughout the cities of Sikeston and Miner and over 25 in nearby East Prairie, Charleston and New Madrid. Southeast Missouri has many points of interest for the history buff!
Historic Depot
Sikeston’s Historic Depot, located at 116 West Malone Avenue in downtown Sikeston, is on the National Registry of Historic Places. Built in 1916 next to the busiest tracks in southeast Missouri, the depot was closed in 1986. The dedication and hard work of local citizens restored the depot to a cultural center which officially opened on March 3, 2000. Thousands of visitors have viewed dozens of permanent and rotating exhibits depicting the history, arts and culture of the area. See the Historic Depot online or visit in person. Hours are Tuesday through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday afternoons from 1 to 4.
Lambert’s Cafe

The “Home of Throwed Rolls” is one of southeast Missouri’s most popular stops! Lambert’s Cafe offers a comfortable, entertaining atmosphere and with their generous portions of down-home entrees and “pass-arounds” of fried potatoes, okra, macaroni and tomatoes, black-eyed peas – you certainly won’t go away hungry! But keep a heads-up! Remember – this is the home of the original “throwed rolls” so you’ll definitely see those hot, wonderfully tasty rolls flying through the air! Southeast Missouri Agricultural Museum & Granny’s Antiques
The state’s largest collection of antique farm machinery is just a short drive from Miner. At the Southeast Missouri Agricultural Museum, you’ll see more than 6,000 pieces of machinery all capable of performing their original tasks. Many items date back to the 1800′s and include tractors, combines, wagons and more. Granny’s Antiques is located next to the Museum as are two authentic log cabins, a reconstructed service station, post office, 191 room schoolhouse, old country church, newspaper office, bank and the railroad station. Step back in time — Visit in person!
City Parks
Sikeston’s Park system includes 14 parks, perfect for large family gatherings or quiet picnics. Our largest park, the Sikeston Recreation Complex, features a fishing lake, picnic shelters and playground equipment. With tennis courts, and several soccer fields, baseball diamonds and a little league football field, the Recreation Complex is home to a number of sporting events, including state and regional tournaments.

Veteran’s Park
Hundreds of young men from Sikeston and other communities in southeast Missouri have valiantly served their country in times of war. This 4.8 acre park is dedicated to area veterans and features a large, lighted granite monument and flag display. Veteran’s Park was constructed and is maintained by volunteers without city funding. Names of Sikeston area veterans are inscribed in the brick walk leading from the parking lot to the memorial. Park visitors enjoy the static displays which currently feature an M-60 battle tank, 105mm Howitzer cannon and an F4 Phantom jet.
Begg’s Family Farm
Looking for something fun but a little out of the ordinary? You’ll have loads of fun at Begg’s Pumpkin Patch just six miles north of Sikeston-Miner! A working farm, your family can travel through a real corn maze, pick a pumpkin, feed the goats, see more farm animals, climb the giant tire maze, enjoy a snack or homemade fudge and much more.
